About the Blog

"The words 'missio' and 'dei' are from Latin words where the former meaning is 'mission,' 'work,' 'action,' or 'activity,' and the later 'God.' So the two terms 'missio dei' signify 'God's mission/work/action/activity.' It is now obvious that the inclusion of my name 'petertkent,' thus 'petertkentmissiodei' implies my involvement/partnership in God's mission, just as a mere steward. So through this blog I plan to share with you the few things which I experience in the 'missio dei' with the hope to encourage and bless!"

About Me

Peter T. Kent
Kohima, Nagaland, India
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few"(Lk. 10:2). "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved"(Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:13)."How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?"(Rom. 10:14-15). These passages have been very powerful to me in convicting me that the world is ready and graoning for the Lord, yet strikingly tells the lack of heralds--both in terms of numbers and partnership; it gives an implication for the "saved ones" to partner in this "missio dei" so that they can be much stronger, wider and efficient even with the few heralds! I have been blessed in getting oppurtunities to be a herald for God's kingdom! My message has been about the purpose of life which is: (i) To love God,(Lk.10:27) through Jesus Christ alone, (ii) To love our neighbours/fellow believers(Lk.10:27), and (iii) To love the world (Mt. 28:18-20) not in the sense of worldliness but to have compassion for the unsaved people.
